Doors Shut at Holyrood |
The
award-winning Scottish Parliament building today closed its doors for the foreseable future in an unforeseen and unprecedented selfless act of solidarity with the English people. A cross party coalition of MSPs voted with their feet and walked out having vowed never to return until the UK Government granted England its own parliament, government and the spending largesse that is lavished on Scotland.
The Scottish Raj down at Westminster were said to be flabbergasted at this act of impudence and Tony Blair of the clan McBlair is reported to have choked on his haggis. |

MSPs bring the Parliament to the classroom |
Politicians
took to the classroom this week with the launch of Holyrood's MSPs in
Schools project. Presiding Officer George Reid and fellow MSPs Andrew
Arbuckle and Mark Ruskell joined a session at Alloa Academy. The scheme
builds links between young people, MSPs and the Parliament, and is run
by Holyrood's Outreach Services department. |

Learn more about how the Parliament works |
The
Parliament has launched two new leaflets in its 'How the Scottish
Parliament Works' series. One outlines the roles of the different
institutions that represent the people of Scotland, while the second
focusses on MSPs and their work. The guides are produced by Holyrood's Public Information Service,
the first port of call for any public queries. Other useful
publications provide information on the building and making the most of
your visit to the Parliament.
